Large (weighs almost 2 lb's) and impressive original Victorian Door Knocker in fine restored condition.

The fixed portion is of a well detailed clenched fist,through which a scroll bar carries the knocking loop in the form of a wreath with lions head to its centre.

Commonly known as a "Wellington" this style was first shown by A.Kenrick & Co.in their 1840 catalogue,as well as 1871 & 1880 but withdrawn by 1899.

Supplied with new fixing studs and knocking button.

Measures 6.3/8" across the scroll,total drop 6.1/2".
