A pair of matching hob grate fireplaces with original surrounds and backplates.Clearly marked "Dale & Co" on both grates.Dating from circa 1840 the grates and surrounds show a pineapple motif along with a foliate pattern with superb casting detail.
Ideally suited to smaller rooms such as bedrooms.
Surrounds and backplates are separate to the hobs and each has attached wall ties for brickwork.
The hob plates on one grate show some heat distortion,which is not too drastic (see pictures below).There are no centre backplates,this would need to be done with brickwork,typically sloping back from the burning grate at an angle into the flue.
Surrounds each measure 29" x 40" with an opening sixe of 22" x 36"
Fireplaces are 22" wide,21" high,9.1/2" deep.Backplates 8" x 15"
