Postage Charges

We have always endeavoured to give a first class postal service by using Royal Mail,however they have now not only increased prices,but further complicated things by adding size restrictions.

Previously all we had to do was calulate weight to arrive at a price.We can no longer go on weight alone and it is impossible now to price accurately.

Parcels will now be sent a variety of ways,some by post,others,particularly weightier ones,by courier.

Price bands are now as follows:-

Up to 100g......Free

Up to 1 Kilo      £5

Up to 1.5 Kilo's £8

Up to 2 Kilo's    £12

Over 2 Kilo's     £18

You can always calulate postage cost before checkout as before.

Overseas charges are still calculated by weight but anything over 2 Kilo's please ask for a quote.

Q.Are all of your items original antiques?
A.Yes they're guaranteed original with no reproductions,although some may be fitted with new 
parts during restoration,such as lock keeps & keys,if so they will be described as such.
 
Q.Whats the difference between a mortice lock & a rim lock?
A.A mortice lock fits in to the door edge,so that only the face is visible.A rim lock is surface mounted,with the whole lock body visible.
 
Q.Do you produce a catalogue?
A.No,because all of the items on offer are genuine antiques,not readily available or made to order.Our web site is our catalogue.
 
Q.Is the site up to date & are all the items shown available?
A.Yes its constantly updated & all of the quantities shown are accurate.
 
Q.How quickly do you dispatch?
A.On receipt of cleared payment (instant if using PayPal) we aim to dispatch the same day where possible or the next working day.
 
Q.Do you lacquer your brassware?
A.No.
 
Q.How is your ironwork finished?
A.Normally lightly burnished with a protective coat of wax or lacquer,although some may be supplied in a satin black finish where appropiate.
 
Q.Can I return items not to my satisfaction?
A.Yes,all we ask is for notification of your intention to return as soon as possible.Returns should then be made within 7 days of receipt,provided of course that they have not been tampered with in any way.
Items returned outside of the above period may be subject to a re-stocking charge.
 
Q.Do you deliver worldwide?
A.Yes,unless otherwise stated on larger items where the cost may be prohibitive.
 
Q.Can we visit to view?
A.Yes with pleasure,but please contact us first to avoid a wasted journey.
 
Q.Do you buy similar items to those on your site?
A.Yes of course,we're always looking for interesting replacement stock,but it must be genuine.

Payments can be made by cheque,bank transfer or securely online using your credit/debit card.
 
 
Regrettably we are unable to take card payments in person or over the phone.
 
Successful orders are confirmed by email on completion,without this acknowledgement your order hasn't been fully completed.
